R3 Sciences: Alternative Energy Processes
R3 Sciences, L.L.C., is an alternative energy initiative focused on the commercial development of a unique alternative energy process capable of real, near-term application in the field. The performance test runs in lab scale equipment provides encouragement that the commercial scale-up of this technology can have an immediate impact in the regional energy market where they are deployed.

At R3 Sciences we are combining advancements in fuel catalysis with the latest innovation in process intensification. The combination has proven in field-scale prototype testing to provide an immediate, cost-effective conversion of carbonaceous material (natural gas, wood, biomass) into liquid fuel compounds such as methanol and dimethyl ether. The initial field installation is designed to use natural gas from sources such as: flares, associated gas recovery, stranded gas, and primary field gas. By using the patented and patent pending R3 G2M Process, we can produce a methanol fuel in the field. The 'distributed' production model of a liquid fuel reduces the cost of transportation to the local consumers as well.

R3 Sciences has identified a large number of natural gas producing and process locations in the U.S. and locations abroad where flaring to the atmosphere is the only solution. These locations represent a substantial volume of natural gas. The R3 Sciences process is able to harvest this wasted or stranded natural resource and convert what is considered a non-commercial energy source into a valuable liquid energy product.

Several world energy and environmental organizations estimate that as much as 3.5% of all produced natural gas is burned in gas flares for various reasons. This volume translates into gas volumes in the trillions of cubic feet per year. If this gas were easily converted using the R3 Sciences' process it would represent a major support to our global energy needs. The R3 Sciences' Process is a process that has proven capacity to offer a high degree of conversion in converting this natural resource into a valuable fuel product.
